What is Chiropody?

Your feet are one of the most active parts of your body. They go everywhere with you and help you take part in every activity from shopping to sport.

When your feet look abd feel like they need some attention, proper foot care from a qualified, professional chiropodist is essential.

Chiropodists, also sometimes known as podiatrists, treat a wide variety of abnormalities and conditions of the foot and lower limb, from verrucas and ingrown toenails, to arthritis.

Who can benefit from a chiropodist?

Chiropodists work with people of all ages, but also play an important role in helping older people, and disabled people, to stay mobile and independent.

Diabetics are encouraged to see a Chiropodist on a regular basis as their condition can cause serious problems in the feet and their overall body health.

Here are some other common problems, which can be treated by a chiropodist:

Cutting and filing toenails
Cutting or filing hard skin
Treatment for corns
Verruca Treatment
Orthotics
Strapping and padding

Andrew Templer MSSCH MBCHA HPC qualified Surgical Chiropodist, registered member of the British Chiropody and Podiatry Association and a member of the Health Professions Council.

I have lived in Malmesbury for five years, and I have been qualified as a Chiropodist since 1993. In that time I have had my own chiropodist visitng practice, with in South Gloucestershire and North Wiltshire area.

I currently attend a large number of residential and nursing homes, hospitals and private patients in their own home.

Since I have been qualified I became a member of The British Chiropody and Podiatry Association and a member of the Health Professions Council, which is a regulated governmental controlling body.

I have now joined The Oxford Practice, as I now want to spend more time in a clinical environment with a professional relaxed atmosphere.
